Ryan Hansford and the Multispares Torana will compete in round 3 of the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters series at Sydney Motorsport Park on April 30 – May 2nd and all the action will be live on 7Plus and 7Mate.
The 7 network and ARG the series promoters have tweeked the schedule this week so that TCM has its qualifying at 8pm on the Friday night, under lights and live on 7. This will make great TV.
Some may remember how spectacular the TCM cars were at SMP in 2019 as part of the Muscle Car Masters race meeting where Ryan put the Torana on pole position for the night race.
After Ryan’s race 3 win at Bathurst recently he is keen to get back to SMP. Ryan likes the layout and the Torana was fast there in 2019 but the Torana was still quite new and the package just couldn’t keep the rear tyres in good shape and as the weekend went on he got caught and passed towards the end of races but still ended up with a pair of 3rd places.
“I am really confident that we have the Torana much better balanced now and I can’t wait to see how we go at SMP over all the races and in particuarly race 3 as we showed at Bathurst. Last time I raced there we were really fast but by race 3 Bowey caught and passed me like I was standing still.” Said Ryan
“Sydney Motorsport Park is one of the hardest tracks on tyres and it really shows up your car if you don’t have the balance just right. The work that the team did in late 2019 has made the car not only faster but much better on its tyres and the balance at Bathurst was amazing” Ryan added.
The team is also looking forward to seeing some spectators and Multispares guests back at the race meeting for the first time in a while. Friday afternoon will have a practice session, then qualifying Friday night and then two races Saturday and another two on Sunday.
The ARG round will see TCM back with the TCR cars, the open wheeler S5000, Porsche and production cars so it’s a fabulous event for all motorsport enthusiasts.
