The Return to Perth: Hansford’s Next Challenge
The 2024 Touring Car Masters series heads to Perth for round 2 on May 17-19. Carco Raceway as it is currently known will host the Perth Super Night round which will be shown live on Fox Sports and Kayo. The last time Ryan raced here was in 2015 in his Multispares V8 Ute as part of the Australian V8 Ute series. Ryan qualified 3rd and finished 6 th after some typical epic battles.
“I always enjoyed coming to Perth to race in the V8Utes. I raced here from 2012 through to 2014 and had some great battles. It’s a fun track to drive, with plenty of passing and I’m sure the Multispares Torana will go well here.” said Ryan. After a tough start to this years series at Bathurst, Ryan will be looking for wins to claw back some points after a tyre delaminated and he fell down the order in race 1 before fighting back to 5th and then 3rd in races 2 & 3. Following round 1 in February, the team had the engine back to the dyno for some tuning and added some new sensors so Ryan can download data from the car between each session and race.
Data has been allowed in TCM for several seasons and it’s a useful tool that all drivers now use.
