Tasmania Triumphs with a Championship Climb
Multispares Racing is thrilled to bring you the latest update from an action-packed Round 2 of the Touring Car Masters series at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania. The weekend kicked off with immediate pace, as our own Ryan Hansford in the iconic Multispares Racing Torana showed incredible form right from the start.
After a strong 6th place in practice, Ryan truly turned heads in qualifying, putting in a sensational lap to secure a superb P3 on the grid! This was an outstanding effort, particularly considering the long straights of Symmons Plains, which historically don’t favour the characteristics of our 5L engine. It’s a true testament to Ryan’s skill and the team’s relentless setup work. Race 1 saw Ryan convert that strong qualifying into a fantastic 3rd place finish, securing a valuable podium for Multispares Racing! The racing continued to be intense, and Race 2 delivered some high drama.
While a significant multi-car incident brought out the red flags and ultimately led to no points being awarded for the race, Ryan skilfully navigated the chaos, avoiding contact and showcasing his experience under pressure. Undeterred, Ryan came out fighting in Race 3, battling hard throughout the field to secure another excellent result, crossing the line in 4th position overall.
These consistent, strong performances in Tasmania have propelled Multispares Racing up the championship ladder! We are incredibly proud to announce that after Round 2, Ryan Hansford and Multispares Racing have moved into second place overall in the Touring Car Masters Championship. “With Round 2 now behind us, our focus has already shifted to the next exciting challenge! We’re back at the workshop, meticulously preparing the Multispares Torana for Round 3 of the Touring Car Masters Championship at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin, from June 20-22.
We’ll be reviewing all the data from Tasmania, making any necessary adjustments, and ensuring Ryan is fully prepared to take on the Top End heat and competition.
