Hansford heading back to Sydney

After finishing second overall in round 1 of the 2022 Touring Car Masters series Ryan Hansford and his Multispares Torana will be racing at Sydney Motorsport Park this coming weekend for round 2.
Friday May 27 will have practice and then qualifying will be held under lights at 6.15pm. At round 1 Ryan qualified on pole position so he will be keen to do the same again but as always it will be close with as many as 4 cars all capable of grabbing the top spot.

Saturday and Sunday both have two races each day televised live and ad free on …

Hansford second in Sydney

Ryan Hansford has started his 2022 season with 2nd overall for the round at Sydney Motorsport Park for round 1 of the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters series.

With the terrible flooding in Qld and NSW, the first Supercar round at SMP was extremely lucky to go ahead the weekend before last. Despite heavy rain in the lead up to the event Supercars took a punt on the forecast and they got it right. Showers over the 3 days meant the track conditions varied every time the cars went out, but the event got run.

Practice got underway Friday after lunch …

Round 1 2022 Sydney Motorsport Park

The 2022 Touring Car Masters series will kick off its season on March 4,5 & 6 at Sydney Motorsport Park and Ryan Hansford and his Multispares Torana will be there to put on another solid performance, as he did in 2021, where he won two races and the overall round.

Once again there will be a mix of tracks in the 2022 season and the SMP layout suits the Torana, so Ryan and the team are determined to get off to a good start and come away with a bag of points from Round 1.

“I had my best round in Sydney …

2021 TCM Round 6 and End-of-Series Review

Whilst covid spoilt some of the party this year, we still managed to squeeze in 6 rounds of the Touring Car Masters series and finished our season at Mt Panorama Bathurst with a massive 6-day event and once again TCM delivered the best racing of the week.

Ryan Hansford and the Multispares Torana had their best season since joining TCM, winning 3 races, the Pro Am championship and 2nd overall to John Bowe in the outright championship.

Ryan was the fastest driver all season picking up wins and podiums but a flat tyre at Bathurst in round 2 and a failure with …

Ryan Hansford wants series win at Bathurst

The road to Bathurst next week for the final round of the 2021 Touring Car Masters series, where Ryan Hansford is going for his first Australian championship, started back in Adelaide 2020, but as we all know, his amazing start to the 2020 championship got interrupted by Covid 19.

After spending the 2019 season developing the brand new Peters Motorsport built Torana A9x, Ryan immediately showed that the speed had been unlocked in practice at Adelaide. Ryan then put the bright Blue and Yellow Multispares Torana on pole by a decent margin of nearly half a second.

In race 1 he got …

Ryan Hansford takes out round 3

Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP) has been a favourite track for Ryan Hansford and his Multispares Torana but Ryan was one race win off a clean sweep for round 3 of the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters series on May 2nd/3rd.

Ryan set a new qualifying record for TCM cars to secure his second pole position for 2021 and won two of the three races. He also set a new lap record. His 2nd place in race 3, to Steve Johnson, still gave him the round win and had he had a few more laps would have passed Steve to …

The 7 network and ARG the series promoters have tweeked the schedule this week so that TCM has its qualifying at 8pm on the Friday night, under lights and live on 7. This will make great TV.

Some may remember how spectacular the TCM cars were at SMP in 2019 as part of the Muscle Car Masters race meeting …

Hansford shakes up TCM at the mountain

Ryan Hansford has pulled off a sublime race win at Mt Panorama Bathurst in race 3 of the 2nd round of the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters series.

After surprising many with 2nd fastest in qualifying, and holding the top spot until the last 30seconds to the flying Camaro of young gun Adam Garwood, Ryan was confident going into race 1 with the Multispares Torana’s speed across the top of the mountain but until he got into race conditions he still wasn’t sure he could off off the superior straight line speed of the 6 litre Camaro’s, Mustang’s and …

Ryan Hansford racing at the Bathurst 500

The Torana is prepped and loaded into the transporter and will leave tonight for Bathurst for round 2 of the 2021 Gulf Western Oils Touring Car Masters series.

Unlike round 1 at Symmons the team have the right diff and gearbox ratios sorted, and last time Ryan raced at Bathurst in 2019 was the first time he was well and truly quicker than John Bowe. The shock absorbers are also adjusted to the previous Bathurst settings and Ryan is confident and is aiming to give the team another podium result.

Bathurst has big long straights and does favour the cars with 6 …

2021 Round 1 Preview

Welcome to the 2021 Touring Car Masters series. It’s very close to 12 months since Ryan and the team were in Adelaide competing in round 1 of the 2020 series.

It certainly feels like “take 2” as the team does its final checks for getting this season underway.

Even though the car did just the one race meeting and a few drive days, Rod and Pete have given the Torana the once over and the engine has had a top end refresh so it can do the whole season. Ryan is super fit as he was last year but even more so …
